Glossary

General meeting

A meeting of the members of a company (or their proxies or body corporate representatives) held for the purpose of considering and voting on particular important decisions regarding the company's business and operations. The term can refer to a non-routine meeting of a company called for a specific purpose or an annual general meeting. A general meeting may be called by the directors of the company or requisitioned by a certain number of the members.
