The Employment Appeal Tribunal has held that, for the purposes of the exception to the service provision changes rules in the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (SI 2006/246), an intention that a task or event be of short-term duration requires a client to have more than a hope or wish that it will be short-term.
