To view a PLC standard document in your house style, you need to click on the "Open in your FirmStyle" MS Word tab. This will bring up the document in your browser. Do not edit the document at that stage. Save it to your local machine by clicking on the File menu and selecting Save as.
By definition PLC FirmStyle provides documents in a style specified by your firm. Accordingly they generally do not follow the template set-up of PLC's own standard documents. If you have any problems editing these documents you should in the first instance seek help from your internal help team. PLC does not offer general MS Word support.
PLC is in the process of upgrading the website help it provides to users of its documents. In due course we will provide on-line, e-learning demonstrations of how to perform the following common editing tasks on the MS Word versions of our documents:
Creating and updating a cross-reference
Adding or deleting all or parts of a clause
Updating the contents page
PLC standard documents depend on the use of logical styles in MS Word to structure the different levels of text and numbering styles. For more information on logical styles and the set up of PLC standard documents, click here (www.practicallaw.com/4-102-8181).
