Personal data

Also known as personal information. Any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person allowing for direct or indirect identification of that person's identity. Examples of personal data include a name, identification number, location data, online identifier, or one or more factors relating to that person's physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural, or social identity.
The term personal data may have specific definitions in certain jurisdictions. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), for example, personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (known as the data subject) who can be identified from that data (or from those data and other information in possession of the controller) (Article 4(1), GDPR).
