The annual PLC Law Department Forum has been running for over six years. Dedicated to senior in-house counsel and focusing on practical solutions, the forum provides the ideal arena to exchange ideas and learn from others’ experiences.
Building on the success of previous Forums the 2008 PLC Law Department Forum will be a two-day event. It will focus on best practice strategies and tools to position the legal function to meet the demands of the business and add value in the current corporate environment. The first day of the Forum will look outwards at the in-house counsel's role and perception in the business environment and how if at all these perceptions can be changed. The second day will focus inwards and address more closely internal management issues within the legal team and how to structure, motivate and lead an effective legal function.
Recognising that while there are common themes, in-house lawyers operate in very different environments, the programme format allows for delegates to explore the issues more closely with lawyers working in departments of similar sizes and industries. Throughout the Forum there will also be the opportunity for delegates to participate in Legal Risk Focus sessions looking at topical areas of legal risk.
*Materials relating to each of the workshop sessions will be available to all delegates to the Forum.
Please note this Forum is only open to in-house counsel.
