Fine imposed on Slovak railway company

On 3 July 2006 the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic, Division of Abuse of Dominant Position (Office) issued a decision in which it held that the major Slovak railway company Cargo Slovakia a.s. (Cargo) had abused its dominant position on the market. The Office imposed a fine on Cargo in the amount of SKK 75,000,000 (approximately US$2,500,000).
