The Criminal Finances Bill 2016-17 includes proposals to allow information to be shared between regulated entities on specific suspicious transactions. While the aims of the proposals, to help law enforcement agencies and the private sector investigate and tackle money laundering, is undoubtedly admirable, they bring potential challenges and pitfalls for regulated entities.
