Degree: Mr Martinez de Hoz graduated from theArgentine Catholic University in 1980 and received several awardsas the top graduate of the class. He also obtained a Master ofComparative Law at the University of Illinois in 1982 withmaximum grades in all courses.

He is actively involved in the fields of oil and gas,acquisitions of energy companies and project finance, which aresome of the principal areas of expertise of the firm. Mr Martinezde Hoz represented some of the members of the winning consortiumsin the privatisation of Gas del Estate, the former National GasCompany.

In the area of oil and gas, Mr Martinez de Hoz hasparticipated in the largest transactions, contract negotiationsand acquisitions that have taken place in Argentina representingseveral of the major international oil and gas companies andfinancial institutions. He also advises these clients and othercompanies on a regular basis on regulatory and contract mattersand acts as legal adviser of the two Chambers of the Oil Industryin Argentina in relation to the new Hydrocarbons Law beingdiscussed at Congress and other regulatory matters.
